I restored the computer to factory state using Dell Datasafe tried to connect to router at factory state and after downloading all Win7 updates, same result "no ethernet cable detected." I have uninstalled McAfee security center using the tool from Mcafee, full unintall and same result, "no ethernet cable detected" so it isn't Mcafee. I have tried to connect to the router in both a factory (unconfigured) state and a configured state(using the computer that will connect) with the original firmware and updated firmware all with the same result "no ethernet cable detected." The router and ethernet cables are functional, I am able to connect to it using another computer. Device manager reports it as enabled and working. The adapter will not recognize there is an ethernet cable plugged in and none of the LED's light up when connected to the router, yet it works flawlessly when connected directly to the modem. I just purchased a new Netgear WNDR 3400 router and I cannot get a connection to it via ethernet cable. I have an Alienware Aurora running Win7 home premium 64 with the Broadcom Netlink adapter. ![]()
